Most conversations, especially group conversations, are very difficult to follow for people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. Hearing aids are non-effective for those suffering from severe hearing loss, lip reading can be limit understanding to 30% and captioners or interpreters are very costly. The team has experienced these limitations first hand, as both parents of the co-founder and CEO are deaf.

SpeakSee created a device that transcribes speech to text using speech recognition. This way someone who is deaf or hard-of-hearing can read what is being said and have full access to all conversations, anytime. The product consists of a system of multiple beam-forming microphones that transcribe audio to text on a smartphone or laptop in different colors for each speaker. The product has high accuracy in group conversations, speaker separation, speaker identification (each speaker in a different color), and can efficiently differentiate any background noise.
